USB in a Can

I've looked through a lot of the forums, but I haven't heard of anyone trying this - How about sticking a whole USB WiFi adapter inside a tin can. There would be no soldering required, just a USB cable back to the laptop. You could hold the USB adapter in place with a rubber grommet, and slide it up and down to tune it....
... or am I just being stupid?

A bunch of your fellow New Zealanders have been doing such things.

Cans, asian food strainers, etc.

Gee, it seems about 10,000 other people have already thought of this. I have seen a couple of pics of Woks being use as antennas, but had no idea that they were using USB WiFi adapters. The USB rigs seem a bit easier to assemble than a coaxial one. I especially liked the sardine can model.
