That brings back some memories, I used to have a Rincon Giant. That is until some jackass cut my lock off and stole the damned thing, great bike though, I loved mine. But that got replaced by a Trek Multitrack 720 that I can pick up with two fingers

It seems like you would be better off with the laptop in a backpack vice on the handlebars!

With that mounting it seems like you could exceed the vibration limits of the hard drive if you were to hit some rough road/path.

Ought to boot backtrack2 off a usb thumb drive, then he wouldn't have to worry about the drive.

They also are starting to ship solid state HD's that would solve that problem too.

I saw one that uses old SD cards (4 of them) to create a solid state HD.

I've noticed that my 80x SD card (for the camera,) is >considerably< faster tnan my El Cheapo 1gig thumbdrive.

Just something to bear in mind.
