What do I need to start?
I have read several articles and looked around the site and I am interested. I have a laptop and I am going to order the orinoco gold pc card. What else do I need besides that? I noticed some folks had a mobile gps in their setup, is that needed and what is it for besides the obvious? Can someone point me to articles that will answer my questions.

BAsically, all you NEED is a laptop, a supported wlan card, and Netstumbler. Many people also add an antenna (w/pigtail) either omnidirectional, or directional, and a GPS so that netstumbler can "remember" the location of the access points it finds (and then upload or share these files). try searching the forums for "stumbler special" for a deal on the antenna\pigtail, and also read:
