PHX Stumbling
I live in Tempe. The areas that have been hot for me are in Mesa along university drive and just cruising up and down Hayden road. Old town Scottsdale, North Scottsdale, ASU campus is hot and Soutern Ave to just name a few. I have been thinking that if you head to CamleBack at night with a YAGI and a laptop that you should be able to hit quite a few AP's from up there as I have gotten allot of AP's around there when driving up Camel Back. I am currently working on the "Pringle" Yagi, just need to find the connectors and the pig tail. I will post what I find when I go to Camelback. I would also be interested in setting up a wireless Lan with point to point antennas with other stumblers to share info.

Phoenix Stumbling
Still finding interesting points in and around the Phoenix metro area. I keep my WAP open (public, just find it and accept the DHCP) in downtown Tempe.
Unfortunately I currently have the Linksys PC card (no access to antennas) but would love to ride with others with a bit more powerful equipment. I don't know how effective this would be, but with a good antennae, it would be interesting to see what you could spot atop south mountain. It would make for an entertaining afternoon. You bring the antenna, I'll bring the beer. pathighgate@hotmail.com |

Don't forget the warehouse districts
Went to a meeting near 51st Ave and Van Buren (major tank farms, manufacturing and warehouse area). I must have picked up over 20 AP's in less than a mile - with many sites having multiple AP's. So if you decide to Stumble around Phx, don't forget to head to the warehouse areas.

I'd be interested in meeting other WarDrivers in the Phoenix area.
I'd also be intersted in Swapping .ns1 files with others who have them for greater Phoenix. I'm trying to do some statistics on Wireless deployment in the Phoenix area (Most common AP types, most common channel, % using default Ap names, % using encryption, etc.) and additional data points would be welcome. I have about 150 AP's from Tempe, North Chandler and Ahwatukee. Tapper@minas-anor.com |

too bad we must revert to decentralizing data that we ourselves have centralized... Hopefully in the future we can truly share this data storing information.

Mappings
Blackwave I will send you what I have found but I dont have a GPS. I know these lists are pointless if you dont know where they are in the City. Just give me a shout and I will send them if you are still interested.
Last look I had over 400 AP's found so far. |

neosensa and whomever else
blackwave at hushmail dot com
Please send what you have and I will send what I have... Please compress data (rar, zip, ace) before sending ![]() Perhaps if I get enough data from whomever wants to participate I will merge and post on a free website and/or I have a few websites at my disposal that I can use authentication and ssl so only those who contribute can dl latest info... ..... just an idea. Let me know what you think.

Phoenix area
Tempe, Phoenix, Scottsdale, Mesa, and Chandler. I do not have a GPS unit. I have logged over 500-600 Wlans in those areas. Many Many Many lans are wide open. I have found some rather surprising discoveries that include stores and companies that have slipped up and left a hole into the wired networks.
