Sounds good

It would be nice to see something get organized. There is also:
http://wifi.meetup.com/

There is a listing for Phoenix, but it keeps getting canceled due to lack of response.

hehe, you're probably right -- all APs and the such are supposedly shipping with WEP enabled by default, or at least having firmware updates that enable WEP by default.

Do what we did on the Delphi meetup here in Colorado Springs: One of the guys registered a couple of times and then RSVPd twice. It got us over the top for a meetup.

The Springs Wi-Fi meetup got canceled eight times in a row until we finally made it happen the other night. You can also use the little "mini-board" to call a meetup even if Meetup.com cancels it.

It's -3F here right now, BTW. I lived in North Scottsdale until last April. I'm starting to miss it, heh.

Phx wireless group

Hello,

I was wondering if anyone would like to get some people together and setup a WUG here in Arizona? Something like seattlewireless, where we could exchange ideas, have classes on antenna design and such.

Let me know what you think.

get together

I'm a beginner in the Anthem area. I got 200 AP's in one session, about half were open. It's disturbing how these people are so carefree.

Not all people who have unsecured networks are careless. Some people don't use encryption because they choose not to, for whatever reason they think is important.
