ham guys
There really isn't much interest. I found two other people doing stuff, one in boca, the other in the gables area trying to set-up a free LAN. I've been trying to get some some poeple locally to help me set-up my free Wi-FI LAN. By any acount, you can contact me on AIM: LoganDzwon if you wanna talk to me. Ham Guys...
I also started stumbling last week. Haven't done a whole lot yet. I did drive around Sawgrass Mills Mall with high hopes but only found 2. I work in Weston and I also live in the West Sunrise areas (Sawgrass Mills Mall).
I would like to do some experimentation with outside antennas at the house....Any takers? Don |

well, this doesn't belong here but..
Logan, a while back you posted about using older versions of drivers/firmware with the silver card to allow promiscuous mode operation. I have installed the versions you mentioned and with the help of etheral can capture in promiscuous. But now netstumbler won't recognize my card so I have to change drivers, reboot, and flash the firmware to get things working with netstumbler again. Did you have any problems with netstumbler when you changed drivers? Any advice you can give me will be greatly appreciated as this problem is driving me nuts. Oh, I'm running 98 on a dell 3200 if that changes anything.

Stumbling in weston and surrounding area
I found a few networks in the weston area where i live and none had wep enabled and with default settings i'll be posting the data on the map as soon as get my gps working, i've also found at least 15 networks going down I-75 from arvida to sw 8th st and the palmetto.

firmware
your SOL on that one... with lucent/orinoco's 6.x and later firmware they made some major changes in the way stuff works. This was supposed to make the cards play better with Peer-to-Peer mode(acually it really does help) but there no way to advoid the rebooting and driver changes...
Other guy with the house antenna problem. I'll be hooking up an antenna on my house aswell. =) Contact me if you need any help with that. |

Hey I go to school at UF...and I go back home to Weston at least once a month...if there are any other stumblers in my areas drop me a line...especially if you have an external antenna setup (I'd love to see one)
