For all you Tampa people, any suggestions for locations? I say we all meet at Tampa International Airport. LMFAO. Maybe not...their parking is expensive! Hello, it's been bussy here at work and around in my life. Feel free to e-mail me at Logan@sandsriver.net if anyone is still interesting in doing something like a wireless group down here. I tired to start one a few months ago, but only about 3 people including my self were it then.... Anyway, I live south of Sawgrass by about 2 miles. =)

Sorry for the delay, it's busy here.
Where we meet should depend on where we want to go. Best idea is probably Westshore Mall.. Free parking and near to the "action". Maybe we should set up a mailing list to coordinate. If you agree, I'll get one running. Let me know. |

Tampa Airport
... except they now search your vehicle for short term parking. They gave me the third degree over my mobile HT I use on AM airband. (I'm a ham - but I won't use my call for a nic - unlike a previous poster *grin*) just because I wanted to plane watch from the upper deck.
Seems "Mr. $5.25/hr Redshirt" thought it was some kind of remote control for "crashing airplanes" (IQ alert - this guy's height in inches was higher than his IQ) I hit him with the "I'm federally licensed to use this radio. See?" and produced ticket. I guess I should have shut up then - but, noooo... feeling cocky, I asked, "May I see the station license for your HT?" Got thrown out on my ear... (but the cops were cool about it at least...) Clearwater has a gold mine of AP's in some newly constructed apartments on Keene Road. Seems I'm told the leasing company is offering an internet access deal for new renters which includes an AP. Anyone care to post pics of their set-ups? -samoflange |

Hi guys,
I live down in Englewood and would love to meet up some time. I don't have any of the GPS equipment or the fancy software, but I am quite interested. I am a consultant focusing primarily on networking here in Englewood and as far north as Sarasota. It would be great to hear back from someone! -Marc |
