reporting in
hi guys,
back for the first report i can give you. our first wardrive yesterday night turned out to be far more satisfying than expected. equipped with one notebook, an avaya silver card and a garmin etraxx gps we headed off for the city. it turned out to get quite interesting when finding quite a few networks (12) without even any kind of range extension. only 2 of them were WEP'd and the first one we found had DHCP turned on ![]() anyway power supply made us some real problems and after scanning for some time we had to drive back since the notebook wouldn't want to work anymore ![]() still we made our first experiences and are lookin forward to the next trip. hopefully my range extender will arrive soon and we will be able to make some advances. i never expected to find anything here to be honest so i am more than satisfied and motivated to scan some more. let's get it on, you will hear from me ![]() ps: thanx a lot for all the valuable information in here ! |

Ap's in Frankfurt
Hello All,
I did a 2 Day Warwalk in Dowtown Frankfurt, I just got back from vacation and will post the Info Soon, However the most intresting AP is only reachable from the Observation Deck of the "Main Tower". Without an Ext. Antt. you will be able to Access the wireless network on the 31st floor oft the neighboring Commerence Bank.. I don't known the BSSID of the top of my head but it's like "Speigel-31" or something.. |

Hi,
the SSID of this accespoint is "MIRRORsaal-31-OG" ;-). You do not need to be at the Maintower to find this base station. I've found this accespoint during my WarWalking to the "Hauptbahnhof Frankfurt". The Access Point seems to be a Cisco Aironet (MAC: 00-40-96-??-??-??). WEP-Encryption is enabled at this base station. Around the DZ Bank Tower I've found today six base stations. Most of them did not use WEP-Encryption. (SSID was very often tsunami) I didn't use an external antenna. cya Acnst |

Ich hoffe du sprichst deutsch?!
Was willst du denn genau wissen? Sehr empfehlenswert sind PCMCIA Karten von Orinoco (EVP ca. 150 EUR) Ich habe in der Gegend vom Hbf Frankfurt zahlreich Base Stations gefunden. Warum willst du unbedingt eine USB Wireless LAN Karte haben? cya acnst p.s.: You can find "Spiegelsaal-31-OG" in the Trianon Tower! |

FRA Stumbling
I use an Orinoco/Agere PCMCIA Gold Card, It seems to be one
of the best cards to use for stumbling, and if you want to use an Ext. antenna it already has the connector on it. (No need to hack/drill/solder one on) And void your warrenty. If your PC has a PCMCIA slot I would got with the PCMCIA card option, and avoid the USB, as I have heard and seen these can be a pain in the ass. As for where to stumble, goto Hauptwache and walk down the Zeil towards Konstablerwache you will pickup about 8-10 AP's some are WEP'ed most are not and will hand out IP's. At the flomarkt area at K.wache you can pull an IP for Telekom's BTX network. Other networks are reachable going from H.wache toward Hauptbahnhof, I know a few of the banks have AP's, some are WEP'ed som not. If I remember, in Niederad there are 4-5 AP's, if you stay on the main roads you will find them, I belive 2 or them had WEP. (All in the Bussiness complex areas) This should start you out on the right foot, if you wish we can trade NS files when you find more AP's |
