Chicago Red Line
I just did a check along Michigan ave from about Adams to the Wrigley Building, across the courtyard and back. A total of 85 networks including multiple small and large businesses, hotels. I setup an audible notification for when data was recieved. Michigan avenue is practically flooded. The wrigley building courtyard got so much traffic that i had to take the headphones out :-D

Another stumbler on the BNSF Chicago?
I had a weird experience this morning on the way to work.
I ride the BNSF Aurora - Chicago express train (Metra), and I had my laptop stumbling. While on the 40 minute ride downtown, I saw a "Peer" show up 6 times on the trip, always with the SSID "CHI". It's MAC address was altered each time too. Could this be another stumbler possibly on the same train? (9 car train, each car about 100 feet long) Perhaps they we're changing the MAC address while they scanned? Kinda strange. The mac address did not show up under vendor. |

Chicago and Near North
Sounds like a plan.
I have my 'dstumbler' rig still set up and ready to roll, I had been testing using both netstumbler and dstumbler with two people walking the same route at the same time, using the same make and model of card, and some networks would be detected by one platform and not by the other. Anybody with a good directional antenna rig interested in participating? Email sent. |
