stumbling dt Mpls redux and other areas
Now that I've got one of them Fab Corp. 5db mag mount thingies and a replacement Orinoco Gold card, I'm retracing my steps from previous stumbles and found a lot more (double/tripple?) the APs.
The UofM area is nearly saturated with APs and have found a lot of home AP units in the NE Mpls area and up into the Anoka county area. Has anyone else stumbled St Paul? I found the Ordway Theater has 2 APs. There are a number of APs in the area around the Capitol (sp?) building and the other state offices. University Ave has a lot of APs west of Snelling but not so many towards DT St Paul.

I'm a student at the U of M, Minneapolis campus. Most of the U's APs will show up in stumbler, but I don't think they are open. They are mostly MAC address authenticated now or using WEP.
I've found a few strong ones on 94 heading West just across the Mississippi River. Was going too fast to stop and see about net access though. I'll be living on campus this fall on University and Washington, so you *might be able to pick up my AP when I get moved in. |

I've just got into the whole "War Driving" thing. I've been using macintosh computers for about two years now.
And just recently I got Mac Stumbler for my Ibook. It works perfect I can drive up and down streets in neiborhoods and almost always find an open IP. I plan to map most of the southern suburbs, so stay posted. ![]() |

Just found this thread, new to the "wardriving" but learning fast.
I'm in the Stillwater area and finding some interesting ones around here and St.Paul. Right now I have my ap broadcasting Rivernet on an external 9dbi omni antenna. If anyones intersted in traveling this side of the cities to find it. I have mac filtering on untill I put a firewall on my wifes comp. but will open up access after that. |

I'm out here in the boonies all by myself. I'm my own WUG. I just had a meeting and elected myself the coolest motherfucker ever. The vote was unanimous. The meeting then got out of hand when a 12-pack of Milwaukee's Best was broken into.
