I have the GPS, but not the IPAQ (yet), and it's a shame that there is no port for Psion/EPOC (that's what I currently use my GPS with), cos that's the only PDA I have right now. I'd love to sort out some kit, but I'm not sure I should just yet.

If I did, it would probably be an IPAQ 3760/3650 with a single PC Card sleeve, an Orinoco Silver card (where did you get yours, btw - I read that you need an old firmware to be able to use promiscuous mode), and a Compaq RS-232 serial cable to hook up to the 9 pin cable that goes to my eTrex.

I'm really curious to see what you were getting when you were near the places you mentioned. I guess if you strapped all the necessary gear to the handlebars of a bike and rode around, you could collect quite a lot of APs! I guess your tour just took you down Damrak and into Kalverstraat - I wonder what else is out there?

cool

Im looking at doing utrect soon rob so i offer you a seat an antenna and a warm ride around as long as you can be the navigator.

I wonder if we could run one system with mappoint 2002 and the gps with a trace so we dont over do what we have done then run the other to pick up the AP's.

I also want to check out schipol

I will have some maps at

I'm up for all that, as I'm pretty new to this lark, but seriously interested in learning as much as I can. I can navigate, no problems..!

BTW - I like the pics of your kit (what is that laptop/workpad that's missing a keyboard? touch-sensitive screen, right? nice!), but I couldn't get the .swf pics to open in my browser. What format are they in? Am I right in thinking that you need Mappoint or something similar to view them?

Yeah, a Psion version of MiniStumbler might just work, since there's a CF slot free (only down side is that there's a damn door that closes over the card - unless it could be removed). And the GPS support is great, with route planning software already installed on mine.

I couldn't get the maps to open, or view "AP test comparison"/"Bridging and wireless hops", but I could view the kit pics.

you were right that downloading macromedia flash was the key to being able to view the maps...
