Went driving in Amsterdam again today and found another 50 or so new accesspoints within an hour time... Nice!! My total of stumbled on accesspoints of The Netherlands is now 325, within a week's time... Wai!!
I think I'll do another round trough Amsterdam tomorrow, hopefully getting 50+ more accesspoints (I'm telling you, there's no limits in this city rofl..)
Anyway, my results have been uploaded to the wigle.net database too, so people interested can look there, or contact me for the .NS1 file. Most of them (279) are with GPS locations.. ;]

Hi Blackwave,

As you might recall I'm already in, I sent you a mail with attached NS1 file (or zipped or so) last weekend...
I think you can expect a new NS1 with the accesspoints of this week by sunday noon or so..

I set up my gear in the rental car at Schiphol but I didn't pick up anything during a 3 hour drive down the A2.

As always, plans changed and I ended up spending a weekend in Amsterdam instead of somewhere in Belgium such as Bruges. Anyway, I stayed in Rembrandtplein and tried to pick up an AP signal from Carnager's maps, but no joy. I finally figured out that my pigtail is broken - so no AP's mapped.

Amsterdam is a lovely city, although warwalking or warbiking would be more appropriate - that's the last time I attempt to drive in the Centrum!

I tried my setup as well, and is working fine, but I do not have a car adapter. Does anyone know where to buy a car adapter in the netherlands?

If you paypal me the funds I can buy the adapter and send it to you via DHL, or I am sure you can mail order it from anyplace on the Internet if you have nothing there.

Ah, Amsterdam. I love that city. If I had the opportunity I would move there without thinking twice. They really need to open up the wi-fi frequncies though ;-)

Depends on your brand of laptop. Prices may vary too, most car adapters aren't cheap anyways..

By the way, during my vacation, I picked up accesspoints too, see attached picture. I'll try to have the larger maps online one of these days, though my normal site url is down for the moment, the webserver is having an upgrade... So I have my site located on an alternate server.. Anyway, once I have working info I'll pass it here.. ;]

European stumblers

Yes, I know, this is quite a lott of ground to cover, so there must be many Europeans stumbling, though I think there are more in the USA alone. Anyway, European stumblers, how do you feel about exchanging data, the way Blackwave does for the North America mostly?.. I mean, most Europeans don't have the need for all those American results, because they most likely never will set foot on that continent. Having the data mixed together with European results can thus be a bit frustrating, in a file of 100MB or so...
That's why I think a separate European collective would be just what we need.
The results I have, with the help of some friends, of europe, can be found on this map:
http://haku.student.utwente.nl/~sdva...pe20021002.jpg
With your help we can get the European map as full of APs as the American map, not with silly photoshop editing but with real results...
So if there's people who want to make this plan a succes, please drop a reply in this thread...

It would also be nice if we came in to contact with other European stumblers because the local scenes are not that big in most European countries. as far as I know, only the UK and Germany have active stumbling groups..
