Well, I'm pretty amazed that our schools always cry and whine about not having enough money but darn near every middle and high school I have approached has multiple Agere APs.
Hwy 26 out near nike is pretty good. Haven't made it downtown yet. |

They aren't teaching Security
Yeah, I've noticed a lot of school AP's and have yet to see one with WEP Enabled. I told my wifes school and their reply was "No biggie, the kids would need passwords to get into the grading system"....and of course they use non-SSL webpages. I'm convinced there is some kid out there missing every day of school but getting straight A's
......Of course if 70% of businesses aren't securing their WLAN's, why should schools?![]() The area around Nike is cool but I have yet to detect one AT Nike...And they even let me drive around campus...social engineering works everytime. Check out the OLCC warehouse in Milwaukee sometime...9AP's with no WEP..All the hard liquor in Oregon goes through that place He he he... |

Conversely, you can pretty much ignore the map at pdxwireless.org -- I don't think their db has been updated in the last year. |
