Hey

I just was wondering how many active people are in this area? And maybe we can start some stuff together. I'm trying to get fully equiped this or next month (only missing a GPS atm). Well found some nice spot's to sneak arround and found some nice AP's allready with 11MBit + DHCP. I'm checking my e-mail now allways there when I leave one of our clients :-)

Count me and a friend. Scanning the Western area from Tysons out up 66 and the Toll Road. Have gone as far as Delaware too but not much out there :-) A little of D.C. too but not much...

I have been looking at the downtown DC area and along RT 1 in Old Town. Still trying to decide the best equiptment to purchase.

In the somewhat near future the Dupont Circle Area will have a "Internet Cafe" open to the public.

Live in Herndon, work in Sterling. I've done some tollroad drives, Tyson's, Arlington, and downtown DC. Got great results in Tyson's and Downtown DC.

I'll be starting up runs in the Norfolk/Va Beach area.
Any advice on equipment is apreciated tho.

Work in Reston and live in Sterling. I've done several drives in these areas and picked up a fair number of AP's. A good number of these without WEP.

Cruising through Crystal City and seeing APs without WEP does not make me comfortable.

Live in Herndon, work in McLean/Tysons... Found some interesting stuff out here where I live... 3 AP's within a mile of each other in the mcnair farms/fox mill area. one of them belongs to a rather large cable modem company, no less. the other 2 are from peoples' homes, it seems. only sniffed.. haven't tried to access anything.

Connect quality: medium to OK ... not great.
DHCP: Yes!

Belongs to the American Psych Association.

Makes a great find for those staying in surrounding hotels.
