I don't see cattle.

Hum...I got a great idea!

Lets get a government grant to place APs on cattle! Their grazing habbits could be studied and we can also document signal strengths of MOOoooving objects!!

Just think, we'll cover 2 studies so we can probably ask for 3 times the money!

Of course, the equipment after the study would have to be sent to me.

Hey,
i live in seattle, but i'm down in oly pretty much every weekend. i have two friends down there on the same street with just a few trees between them (about a mile apart), and wanted to set up a wireless connection between their houses... i've got one crappy laptop with a wireless card and a pringles antenna... would you wanna test a link?

Ive got a 17dbi Yagi antenna that is just sitten around. What part of town is your friends in? Ive been doing alot of driving around seeing where AP's are with my IPAQ. Drop me an email. sifter@ownzu.com

Hey Sifter,
I'm in the same city as you and was wondering if you'd like to try a little game, test, experiment, bordom killer, whatever?
I have an extra access point and have installed it in my car with an SSID "message" for you. I'm curious how long it will take you to stumble across it. We'll have to make contact via private message and find out where we are located from each other and our commuting paths and see if there is a chance we might cross.
If you're interested let me know, if not that's cool, I'll pull the AP out and play with it elsewhere. Just an odd little idea I came up with, sort of a pop-up/shout out message via SSID's to other stumblers.

Looking for X10 cameras was interesting as I am an apt dweller with a cam looking onto the street as well!
