I thought I saw this post on the board, but currently could not locate it, reposting, let's see if it disappears again...

Ah... the last place I would look.. I saw it this morning but then forgot where it was... Hmmm.. doesn't seem too many people discuss things out there on the main site, it doesn't seem integrated with our accounts here.

Has anyone gone back to BB and verified their new security measure?

i think i had a memory leak. the files were taking forever to build.
finally got thru everything this morning...and...
I FINALLY GOT KISMET RUNNING!!
i guess the force was with me.
i was going to write up a how-to for installing it on RH7.3 w/ wlan-ng for prism2, but my procedure was so convoluted i'm not sure i should post it anymore. i'm sure some of the stuff i did wasn't quite right, but at this point i don't really care 'cuz the damn thing is working!!!!

next thing i need to do is get the antenna jack soldered in.

Or you could go and get Wellenreiter because the documentation is pretty good. It explains most of the stuff it's just a little different for Kismet.

btw how do you like wellenreiter? is it worth installing?
would you consider it a replacement or adjunct to kismet.
the GUI idea is kind of appealing to me.

I haven't tried it yet, I got it installed and since then I've been working on getting my sound working and stuff. I'm going to give it a try in the next couple of days.

I gave it a try tonight and it detected the same networks kismet did, the only thing I don't really like is how it displays the data. It displays networks on the left side of the screen by which channel they are on, then if you click on them you get additional info on the right. It isn't bad I just prefer the way kismet shows it, plus I don't want to be clicking to see most of the info.

i tried to get wellenreiter running tonite too. got all the perl modules then launched it but it wants to use pcap, and i'm using wlan-ng now and it doesn't seem to want to talk to it. ever since i installed wlan-ng iwconfig always says "no wireless extensions"
the UI is very NS-like in its look, isn't it?

call me a dummy if u want...but i can't figure out how to select anything in the kismet Networks window. it always says "Cannot view details in autofit sort mode."
