Connecting to multiple IEEE 802.11 networks with one WiFi card

Now, we all now re-posting stuff that's been on /. isn't cool, but here I go anyway:

http://research.microsoft.com/netres...s/virtualwifi/

Looks interesting.

Or like...

Can I hook up two antennas to my Senao card - one Pringles cantenna and one omni - and use a virtual wifi between them to do directional WEP cracking on a non-broadcast SSID with AiroPeek? (P.S. I own the AP, but I've lost the docs - does anyone know a good tool for breaking the password?)

Turns your firewall into a firesieve.

This is a parody. Any resemblence to a real posting is purely intentional^H^H^H^H^H^H^H^H^H^H^H coincidental.

I was more thinking along the lines of (ab)using windows native tendancy to grab onto any nearby networks to create a 'roaming bridge', but I can see how this would make lives miserable around here if n00bs started using it

I believe we had that question just a couple months ago. I think the charred remains of the OP are still in the bin.
