Thanks Netstumbler.com
I just wanted to post in here and thank www.netstumbler.com for helping to make this year's DefCon WarDrive a success. The prizes were appreciated (both by the DefCon staff and those that received them) and lending the Netstumbler name to the contest was great.
I will be sending bks the entire data (over 1800 unique AP's found in Vegas) in the next couple of days after I have had a chance to consolidate the files. Pete Shipley and I have already started planning next years contest. Blackwave, EMP, and Freckles will be joining the fray again as well. We want this contest to grow, and in order to do that, we can't just have a 2 hour find all the AP's drive. It has to be a constantly growing and evolving entity. I feel that having 12 months to prepare as opposed to about 6 weeks will help with that. Again, thanks for the support. Chris chris@defcon.org

just gotta say
thank you thank you thank you.
War drive @ DCX was a lot of fun...not only just doing it, but the $h17 talking, the preparation, the anticipation....can't wait until next year. i only wish i could have seen some of the presentations going on at the same time .maybe it could be done at night with less traffic and less heat (my in-dash unit was saying 106 and even 109 when i was driving)thank you netstumbler.com |

Hratch...congrats to you and Mentat on 2nd place!
For all the problems with the contest this year, I have yet to have anyone tell me they didn't have fun...and that more than anything else was the point. One of the things I am considering for next year is a double drive. In other words people would need to submit 2 hours worth of data (time of their choice) from Friday (to be submitted by Midnight Friday) and 2 hours from Saturday. That way you could drive different areas based on the day/time. You could drive the business districts during work hours on Friday and then drive residential on Saturday night. Not sure exactly how we are going to work the logistics out yet...but we have a year haha. Thanks again for the support! Chris
