Temporarily, I'm in Reading, PA. I just bought a house in State College. I'll be working at Penn State. State College also has a lot of new areas to explore according to WiGLE. My one drive through town got a couple hundred new APs.

My wife is moving up here from Missouri on Thursday but we don't close on the new house until May 13th... crashing in the parents house right now but don't want to stay too long. I'm glad to finally have my own house instead of renting!

May 13th is a good day to close on a house. That's the same day we closed on ours. Congrats on getting a place, does it have a cool workshop?

It looks like a small ranch from the front, but its huge (2600 sq feet), six bedrooms, lots of space. Most of the upstairs is hardword floors. One of the rooms has already been claimed as the Mike-room which will be the computer room/workshop/etc. The kitchen is a galley-type and tiny; the home is about 50 years old so will require some updating. Carport, but no garage.

Overall I'm very happy, just glad to be able to have my own place, finally.

I'll drink excessively this weekend in celebration for the new digs. Conga-rats.

Were you military from NAS Whidbey?

(I can't think of a good reason to move to the East coast other than that. Well, there are some places up in Vermont that the pictures look nice!)

(No offense intended to those who live there already. )

Pictures aren't everything. There are too many liberals here. Now they want to force Universal Health Care on us. Tonight they announced that the latest UHC plan would require every resident to carry a smart card with the individual's complete medical history on it. With that my wife turned to me and said that it was time to consider moving.

I was stationed at NAS Whidbey flying EA-6B prowlers. I am still in the Navy--just been reassigned to the ROTC unit at Penn State, thus the move.

So the "no need for a CCW permit" is also probably in danger?
(Socialists ya know...)

Cool! A kerosene burner jocky!

(I got my Private Pilots in 1973 at BLI at the ripe old age of 17!)

The funny thing is that the lack of a CCW permit is one of the few things that they've not tried to take away. A police chief (a tranfer from Mass. where CCW permits are only issued by an act of God) tried to institute a CCW permit in his town a few years back, and pushed for it statewide. He survived the ordeal, but just barely.
