I'm sorry to hear that. Please accept my condolences.

Thanks guys.

I had a pleasant surprise last week sitting at my desk in our data center. I fired up Netstumbler and as expected I logged 4 -5 peer connections close by. No big surprise, then I had 18 new connections show up all at the same time. They were active for about 8 minutes then they went away. They're all the same manufacturer and almost sequential but not quite. My curiosity was peaked so I left Netstumbler running. This happened 2 more times that day. What's interesting is they're the same 18 SSID's but with new MAC addresses each time, still from the same manufacturer and very close in sequence. This has repeated 3 times a day, every day.

Sounds a lot like someone with a standard build rolling out new laptops. The fact that the SSID's are configured is a bit strange though. I personally wouldn't do that on a new build. I might configure one, if any, but not 18.

Either way, I've been stumbling without moving. Reminds me of a line in "Dune".

It's all that driving back and forth. I've put some serious miles on the rig in the last couple of weeks.

New contender for 1'st place in the group.

Mark57, Front and center!

First let me offer my condolences on the loss of your sister. It's never easy to say goodbye to a loved one, especially if it happens suddenly and without forewarning. My prayers and warm thoughts go out to you and your family.

Secondly, let me congratulate you on taking first place in the group with the latest batch of uploads you did today, sending CCIE4526 down to the second place, with a nice margin of almost 2000 detected networks with GPS data.
At the same time you have moved up on the overall Wiglestats, to the third place.

Thanks guys.

I have mixed emotions on my stats for the last 30 days since I probably would not have that much were it not for the driving back and forth to take care of her final affairs. On the other hand, stumbling along the way helped keep me distracted. I feel bad that CCIE4526 was working here in OKC when I had to tear out so quickly that we didn't get together either.

No worries mate, I've been home and am back in Denver now, and will be back there in OKC again in three to four weeks anyway. I'm just having a helluva time trying to keep up with your numbers right now!!

Sorry to hear about your loss.

A friend of ours has been going through absolute hell after his sister passed away. Nobody else would handle her estate, so he got elected by default. He has been going through her stuff for the last few months, and it turns out she was quite the packrat. She's got closets full of high-fashon designer gowns, (+$2,000 ea.) and some very expensive collectables that she had accumulated over the years. Her mom and dad were pretty much subsidising her due to her mental illness so her brother is trying to get top $ and give the money back to her parents.

Really sad situation.

Let me know when your coming back. I doubt I can keep this rate up much longer but I'm taking advantage while I can. I've got a few more trips back to wrap things up. At this mileage rate, I'm changing my oil almost once a week.

Thanks. I'm also taking care of her estate, etc. She was in good shape but it's still a lot of work and you just have to be there physically to do some of it.

I am on the front page now. I have been taking all of Starpoint's APs.
The Houston Wardriving group idea sounds cool.

I am running Kismet with a Proxim 8470-WD attached to a 12dBi omni antenna from fab-corp. Occasionally, I will set up a Motorola Wr850g running Kismet_drone as well.

Cool, then you can suck up all those nets that Scruge leaves behind because I can't get him to use Kismet.
