I know I'll never see those kind of numbers up here!

Now that I'm finally set up here in State College, I will hopefully start getting some new additions in the coming weeks.

Starpoint and I had some fun wardriving today Found 8079 APs of which 2852 were new. These numbers not part of question below.

It's not in the Wigle wiki so can someone explain the difference between:
This is the last upload of 5 uploads down today

2510 New Discovered Networks with GPS
2710 Total New Discovered Networks
4835 Total Networks in File
4834 Total New Locations

I don't see how those numbers add up.

I agree with the weird math there... they do not add up... but as Beakmyn has already found out about my city... wifi... its Everywhere!

wigle group

I joined the netstumbler wigle group so I can add to the list as I gather AP's

when I go to check my personal stats it says I have to log in, which I am already logged in. currently I have no uploaded stats nor do I show up in the group listing. The group shows 41 members but when you check it it lists 40.

is 40 the limit?

No, but unless you have uploaded data you won't show in the detailed group list.

Total New Discovered Networks with GPS: 18,774
All Networks Recorded: 29,770
Networks This Month with GPS: 9,098

Since the National Museum of Funeral History is closed until the 26th I spent the day driving.
Hopefully next week I'll get to see how the make dead people.

I just took out Wrzwaldo and Deoje and I've got the cross-hairs on eyecannon.

You're in Texas right? To see how they make dead people, just tresspass on someone's lawn. They'll show you right quick.

That is only 1 of the MANY ways we do that... up in Huntsville (which is a nice play to wardrive since its a college town and broadband is everywhere) we have a VERY active death chamber... wait.. that does not sound right... not too much goes on.. they strap you in, poke a needle in you, you say some words, and the average time is about 8 minutes and you are a corpse

Beakmyn, did you drive those streets I mentioned?

ps... Wizwaldo is 6406 behind you now..

Hmmmm if you want to complete the gaps, go south on Wilcrest then head up into town on 59, before you get into the loop, exit, make a U turn, go to Gessner, go north (right) until you get to 290 (this will be a long drive but fruitfull) then go back into town on I-10, take 45 south to 610, go West (right) and back around to the west side.

I would say once you did all that.. add about another 3000 AP's

and for those who are wondering about the East side of town.. keep in mind that Houston is BIG in square miles.. in fact the cities of Bellaire, Spring Branch, West University, Deer Park, and Galena Park are ALL within Houston's city limits. We did the Amoeba deal and absorbed them.. (soon to have Kingwood)

To truly drive Houston effectively there would need to be teams of 8-10 people each driving an area at least once a week.

But like the map shows.. Wifi.. its EVERYWHERE.
