Took about 15 - 20 minutes for my 950k size file to finally get processed last night.

Have you check the status of your uploads? Mine is still queued from this morning and now there are 49 in the queue.

Yup, see the thread on the Wigle forum, which I linked to earlier. It still applies. They are doing some heavy duty DB jobs, probably some of the stuff on the TODO list linked at the bottom of the main Wigle page.

Ha!.. Back in the top 5 of the group, passed K.I.F, and the 10K with GPS mark..
I think I will reward myself with a glass of Liquid Smoke, instead of another dose of the meds

And wrzwaldo, you are my next target

Heh, about 8K more APs into the group stats and we'll pass the Hratch team. Trust me on this.

On the question earlier about Petzl, he's over in Belgium. Just about all the APs that you see on the map in Europe are his. We've been going at it for over a year now, and we're still running more or less neck and neck. When I run out of stuff to find in Houston, Austin, and San Antonio, I'm going to be in trouble. Did manage to get a couple thousand from Aberdeen Scotland last week, so that didn't hurt.

The primary sniffer vehicle I've had running around Houston has Kismet behind a 15dBi Maxrad Omni with an 18dBi preamp mounted directly to the antenna. Nothing like a 33dBi receive gain omnidirectional system to really pull them in. I can see TmobileStarbucks from at least three blocks away.

And now for this month's blatant stats plug...
Stats for user ccie4526:
Total New Discovered Networks with GPS: 99,300
All Networks Recorded: 128,595
Networks This Month with GPS: 15,949

Just need another 700 to bust the 100,000 mark.

It would be more fun if some of the other "groups" were actually that, more than 1 or 2 people!

I see more monthly activity on the Netstumbler wigle group, than any of the other groups, not just because we are more members, but because we are a community which interacts with each other here on the forums
.
Homo Sapiens is a competitive species, even if it isn't PC to say so. I for one get a small kick out of seeing the collective stats rise, and gain on Hratch's stats, and another kick everytime I pass somebody I know from their posts here on the individual stats, not to mention the ability to razz'n'smacktalk for instance G8t on MSN, with his low AP count on Wigle

Dumb question:
Running kismet vs Netstumbler

Since I'm only running NS, about what % of stuff am I missing NOT using passive methods? Anybody got a rough idea?
