Well, Dutch, I knew you were a Mod, but I never suspected you were a mod.
(For those of you going "Huh?" get a full explanation of the obscure cultural reference by Googling "Mods and Rockers", and/or the film "Quadrophenia".)

Useless stats for July so far: Driven 1111.22 Km (690.47 Miles) for 24166 new networks out of 65888 observed networks. Number of new nets detected Page Ranking km : 21.75. (34.99 Page Ranking mile) Petrol used 52.41 Liters (13.84 Gal) for a total cost of 526.10 Dkr (97.42 USD). Average cost Page Ranking. new network detected : 0.21 Dkr (0.04 USD). Next project is to incorporate recharging for the laptop on the city-scooter, and a customized luggage box for the laptop, with fixed antenna and gps mounts. At the moment I'm riding with the laptop in a Targus backback, which can be hard on the back after a couple of hours driving. Probably going to have to replace the stator and the DC spool, in order to beef up the current enough to support Vanson Electronics switching mode PSU SDR-120W, to deliver the 18 VDC/70W necessary for the Dell C610. But great fun in stumbling on 2 wheels. At least when the weather holds dry. Dutch

45 Km/h is a bit slow on the long trips, and can be dangerous since cardrivers (myself included) don't allways respect slow moving traffic, so naturally I de-restricted the motor. It now has a topspeed of 75 Km/h which helps in getting out of dangerous situations. Although I mainly cruise along at around 50-55 Km/h on the long trips in the country side. Gotta have time to enjoy the scenery and the fresh air. The 1111 km's driven this month can be seen on the enclosed gpsmap output : kismet-july2007s.png The discrepancy between the 65888 observed nets I wrote in my stats post and the 56138 nets plotted is due to the first number being the amount of nets seen in all the drives of the month, and the 56138 is the number of unique nets seen and plotted. That means there are about 9750 nets that has been observed multiple times over the various drives. At least that is what I suspect the discrepancy between the "raw networks" reported by gpsmap, and the actual plotted networks, stems from. Dutch

I'm slipping... I'm down to 44th place now. I haven't done any wardriving in the last several months & haven't uploaded anything for 9 months. I need to fix that.

I stumbled a couple of areas in the Østerbro area of Copenhagen, which I hadn't driven through for almost a year, and got about 50 % new networks in those areas, and they had been thoroughly stumbled the first time. Dutch

Finding new areas shouldn't be a problem - it's the logging. I've had several new clients plus putting out some big fires that has kept me busy.
I also recently swapped out my D600 for a D620. It uses a different HD caddy so I need to get one & then load 'nix on a spare drive so I can run Kismet. In the meantime, I'll start using BackTrack & a thumb drive.

This is Casey Casem announcing that I_Do_Dew has for the first time in history made the WiGLE top 40, with 10726 new APs plotted. But only because he needed to borrow a GPS and rent a (Fuel Efficient) car for a 1200 mile trip to Boston, MA and New Haven, CT.
I am worried that since I was using stumbler and not kismet that all of the Boston area stumbers have died if there were any regulars there to begin with. Last edited by i_do_dew : 07-21-2007 at 07:33 AM. |
