Get this one. Hasn't failed me during flights or drives. 120W rated, and 6A for the 20V DC output that the Dell's require. Over here it costs 398 DKR, appr. 65 USD, and well worth it.

8318 AP's with GPS to go, before the 500K mark for the group. All the predictions has severely underestimated the dedication of the group members to get out there and GIT-R-DONE.

If you guys continue the rest of August in this manner, we'll have reach the 500K mark before the end of the weekend, as well as having a third consecutive month with record breaking uploads for the group.

A sincerely "Outstanding!" to you all.

the 500,000 mark

Guys, we are 8318 AP's shy of the 500,000 mark. I have a little bit of driving to do this weekend and will take the kismet laptop with me. I suspect that the group will clear the 1/2 million mark by midnight sunday

Stop sniffing my mind, or I'll start thinking in pictures involving G8t, nailstudded bats, and Goatsee.

I predict we'll be OVER the 500K mark significantly by Monday
Now, if I could find a Walmart and get me some batteries for my GPS.

Which leads me to the Energizer e^2 batteries these work great in the Etrex. Set the battery type to normal alkaline and you'll get 12+ hours of usage.

OK, now that is some imagery that I DID NOT need to hear about.

I did a three hour drive this morning before work. Yes it was dark. I transfered all the Kismet data files (~4,000 AP's) to my Lexar 1GB USB drive to bring in and upload. Guess what . . . no files. Went back out to the laptop. No files! SHIT!!! I know, I know, make a copy, yada, yada. I know better. Why I did a move instead of copy this time, I'll never know. Kicking my dumb ass all over the office this morning.

Thought you bought some rechargables for that thing when you were in Houston? I use rechargeables all the time in mine, I get about 10-12 hours of drive time if I do not power it off the power plug in the truck.

At $2.57 a gallon, I feel bad. The route I drove will take twice as long in traffic and I can't do it again until next week. Can't get drunk at the office. Code of ethics, policies, etc.

I know. We've got it pretty good, but then we are an oil producing state.

This time, I powered the laptop down and then removed it. It was all the way down. I've never popped a USB drive without unmounting. Talk about scrambling files. Everything else is there, just not the Kismet files. They never made it.

I just KNEW your1502 AP count for the month was WAY to low to be true. After all you told me you'd be in a new city on a TDY for the job, so what would you be doing after work besides wardriving.. How many AP's have you hoarded, just waiting for enough to pass the 500K mark ?

Noticed that they don't sell it here in the US, not that it bothers me. Dad is going over to the UK this weekend, I've put a request into him to see if he can pick one up while he's there. Wish I'd have known about this a couple weeks ago, I was in London then, and could have picked it up myself!!
