You're right, but if it were designed to generate AP's inside a Box of coordinates, it would probably look realistic enough. Among the 4million ap's listed, I bet it could be done in such a way that it would be difficult to be caught.

If you wanted to do it legit and get the max return for effort expended. Then setup just outside AP factory and record every unit as it comes of production line and goes through power up test. Last I heard linksys is knocking out around 60k a week.

I wonder if this is where the person lives?

I pulled up that area on Delorme 2006. It's south of West Liberty and there is nothing there. It's a VERY rural secondary road. There aren't that many AP's on the crowded parts of I-40 much less in the hills of Arkansas. The even spacing is crap and an obvious fake.

Yeah that area where I guessed the person lived in smack dab in the middle (well close enough) of the Mcllroy State Game Management Area!

Thanks fellas, I just got word from bobzilla that yes it does make a difference and uploading them all takes longer but will beyond a doubt find something around 2% more than if you just stick with one filetype.

You guys are going to be soooo hating me tonight

You all might find this interesting.

This is Benton county Ar. loaded into digle. Notice when the Qos level is set one notch down 98% of the APs vanish. You have to drop the Qos level 3-4 more notches to remove the remaining APs.

http://www.rjpi.com/misc/bentoncountyqos.jpg

This is Madison County AR just west of Benton, population 15k. Notice how abundant the APs are in their rural community.

http://www.rjpi.com/misc/madisoncountyar.jpg

I think the data is being produced from gps data based on distance traveled.
Take a look at this intersection. Seems if something was producing Aps on a given interval of time that a Stop sign would produce more APs.

I've been uploading all night and morning at max I can upload 20 files at one time since I need to get the values extrapolated from the uploads menu (otherwise I'd just upload them all at once.) I want to see the difference (and it is pretty significant). Heck I already hit 5th rank earlier this morning. Bravo guys! I still have 964 MB to go... chug chug chug... choo choo!

Thanks again!

Instead of hogging the upload queues, why not show some consideration, and be smart :

Contact the Wigle Founding Fathers, ask them if you can gzip and tar all the files into one file, send it by email to them, and let them do a batch job for you.
That way you don't need to wait for it to get done, you don't hog the upload queue, you can get the stats when it's done, and the Wigle Operating Staff can schedule the job for a time where there is less load on the system.

Frankly and logically no one else seems to be using them (... and I am only using 20 queues at a time, if I wanted to hog it I would just upload the entire gig at once via scripting) As I had mentioned I am also extrapolating these values (gained from the extra data) from the uploads page - something I don't want to get missed, and may not get done if I send the data over via DVD - and we all know that if someone else wardrives my routes that I will in fact lose the data over time out of my favor. Once it is complete I will report the actual percentage I gained in uploading the data - this way anyone in the future doesn't have to guess at what the values are, they will in fact know that it is of great value. I've been on the system for the last 12 hours and have a pretty good feel where the ebb and flows are. I've also mentioned that I would be uploading a gig in small increments to bobzilla yesterday after he verified that uploading them all is of great benefit.

Huh ? Who the heck talked about DVD's ?? Failed Reading and Comprehension 101 the last couple of days ? gzip all files and tar them = a tar archivefile that could be sent by email.

Other options :
Use the klc (kismet log combiner) to merge a batch of xml files into one single xml file. Use cat to concatenate a batch of csv files into one single csv file.
I.E. Combine 10 of your xml files into one xml file, then cat the corresponding csv files into one csv file. Remember to gzip the resulting files before uploading them.
Saves on your time as well.

As I have explained above this does nothing for the data needed for my calculations. I am extrapolating the data from the uploads page which only allows a max of 20 queues. I think this is the second or third time I mentioned it.

For example if I upload a file that I uploaded in the past I need to know the precise difference gained in the csv and the precise difference in the gps. WiGLE is a two way tool and I am using it to my advantage. I just don't blindly upload data without caring what the results are. I am building a machine of efficiency and need to know if these routes are efficient. As my stats prove it is certainly working for the better.

Thanks for your suggestions and advice.

I full well understand what you are trying to do, but what you don't seem to get, is that you could get the information for each file even if it was done by the Wigle staff as a batch job. Just ask them nicely, they are friendly people.
And just another word of advice : Drop your patronizing attitude when posting here. This advice won't be repeated.
