Just so you know, other people do seem to be using them. I uploaded a number of files today and waited quite a while as the queue was generally 20+ files. In fact, it's still 20 files as I type. Sure, maybe only four people have uploaded today, but that will increase as people get home from work or driving.

Keep in mind that for most of us, wardriving is a hobby. We take pride in our stats, but we are not building "machines of efficiency" to "know if these routes are efficient." I don't even know what that means. What I'm trying to say is that we're doing this for fun, and while the statistics may prove to have some scientific value, that's not the primary goal (at least as far as I am concerned).

Still, I'm not sure how padding your stats with massive file uploads during the day has anything to do with your "experiment." You're the first one to admit very few people have been uploading, so why the concern about getting all your files uploaded ASAP? Just doesn't make sense to me.

I'm not trying to criticize you, just provide you with someone else's perspective.

Thank you I will certainly throttle my uploads from now on. They are almost complete and this was a one time thing only because I had no idea that these files were of such value to WiGLE. I am not a big fan of wasting gas so I just wanted to make sure WiGLE had all the areas I have wardriven. In the future I just plan to make sure I upload the nightly files all at once. I am very sorry this created such an issue, it was not my intent at all.

This is the Internet.. we simply cannot permit efficiency!!!

That being said, wardriving is a hobby, not a job/career. And with todays gas prices, it might become extinct unless low priced Hybrids come about.

Having a nice high AP count on Wigle is nice but other than some notariaty (sp?) on a website what else do you get?

Its fun to do, and we make friends, whom all have this commonality.

If Wigle will only allow 20 files at a time, why not tweak your side of the equation so that it will work WITH their parameters more efficient? Its THEIR website, therefore you need to conform to them.. not the other way around.
