How many new did you get in Everett? I hit it N/S west of Broadway Thursday.

To think, I was supposed to be there on Wednesday, but...

At least 147, I'm thinking around 160. Difficult to tell since I tend to restart Kismet after about 1020 detections - at that point, one of the kismet_client processes is taking up 90%+ of the CPU rather than the early 5%. It looked like it had been well stumbled N/S, that's why I chose E/W. North of Everett Ave, but I crossed Broadway plenty. I'd considered crossing 23rd to get to Cleveland Ave, but then I forgot...

Lots of stop signs going E/W. Good for detecting, but bad for the brake lining.

I really wish that the "onlymine=1" parameter had three different colors
  • I detected first
  • I've confirmed
  • Unseen by me
but I guess I'll need to just keep dreaming...

Wrzwaldo, Front and Center!

As noted today on the Wigle stats, you are now a member of the select few :
The Wigle One Percenters, after having uploaded 47,501 AP's with GPS data, comprising 1.023 % of all the Wigle AP's with GPS.
Keep uploading and maintaining the Wigle 1%'er status

This means that all the top 5 members of the group are Wigle 1%'ers. Well done everybody!

Only 83,456 to go to make 5,000,000 Unique networks in the WiGle database.

LOL, my uploads are mostly rabbit pellets now instead of shit tons. Two days in Dallas made all the difference this month. A one hour drive this morning netted a whopping 92.

Still piling them on slowly/quietly here.

Gonna be in Milwaukee 28thNov-1stDec. Available for frosty malted adult beverages if anyone in that area is so inclined. Wonder if any of the WiGLE crew can be persuaded to make the hour drive north?

OhBTW, Happy Day, Turkeys!

LOL, I noticed you were awake and posting AP's again. I hate to mention it but I was in Dallas 3 days this week again. I haven't had time to upload them yet but I think I have around 30,000.

I see someone passed 5,000,000 today.

With the gas prices the way they have been. They have not allowed me to do any running in my van. I have to drive to Dallas in December (on the company's dime) so I will WD the whole way from Baton Rouge. I'm hoping I can come up with a healthy file to upload since I haven't uploaded in ages.

Hmmm, according to the stats page:

Unique networks with location: 4,788,389

Looks like we still have a ways to go.

Yes, but

Unique networks in DB: 5,019,837

As per the conversation a page back or so. They're discovered, just not located.

No arguments there, but even their main homepage doesn't consider them completely valid until a location is determined:

Worldwide database and mapping of 4,789,981 wireless networks, since September 2001.

That's the number that I work based upon.
