What the hell is so impressive? There is absoultely nothing about this technology explained on their web site or in the news except vague claims of "performance". Their web site speaks to "benefits" "mission", "vision", etc. all warm and fuzzy stuff but significantly lacks details on the underlying technology.

I have a need for this, if it works as promised, in 35 locations. My inquiries to the company go unanswered. I find it strange the "investors are pounding down their doors" with offers of millions of dollars but they are content with working in a garage. What's wrong with this picture?????

my sentiments exactly when BW posted the original thread. ok so they wrote some mystery f/w and have no patents and absolutely no explanation of what the hell they are doing. i'll withhold my awe until i see some more proof.

EtherLinx has been operating a small, for-pay trial in Oakland, California, for the past year. The company will next open up the antenna transmission and begin covering the small city of Campbell, California, where DSL service is not available. The company's founders say they hope to work closely with the Campbell Police Department to deploy the technology. Since it's totally mobile, an EtherLinx antenna can be installed on the police headquarters' roof, and officers can have high-speed access to the Net or to the department intranet anytime, all the time.
Got a criminal record?

Not any longer!

It should read:

and anyone can have high-speed access to the Net or to the department intranet anytime, all the time

Looking at their pretty pictures, it looks like nothing more than what I could do with a bunch of Linksys WRT54G units using 3rd party firmware to create a WDS mesh.
