I can now confirm that I am able to use my Compaq WL100 with Netstumbler in Windows XP. I am using it on NDIS 5.1 mode. It successfully found an AP in my neighborhood.

However, I am not using the traditional driver for the WL100. Instead, I am using a driver for a Samsung MagicLan card, which uses the same Prism II chipset. I did this because the word around the street is that the Compaq drivers cause Windows to crash. Also, I was not able to connect to anything on the Compaq drivers. Therefore, use the Samsung MagicLan drivers for the WL100.

Sweet.
I have this card in my laptop, running XP Pro, and can't get it to work...
Help!

Decided to visit the Netgear site. New firmware and drivers, and now all better...

I got the card last week, installed it on Sony Laptop with WinXP and latest version of NS.

Haven't done any wardriving yet, but it definitely reads my SOHO Linksys AP.

D-Link DWL-650

Win XP Pro with a D-Link DWL-650 works great with the Prism 2 option.

NS works with my Compaq W200 Multiport 802.11b adaptor under Win XP Pro. Using NDIS 5.1. NS had no trouble detecting my AP.

Windows XP pro
USR 2410 Wireless card (Firmware 1.04.09.00)

Cisco Aironet 350
Firmware = 4.25.30
NDIS driver = 8.2.3 (microsoft)
Windows XP Professional (Home works as well)
Netstumbler version 0.3.30

Flash the Aironet card to the latest firmware etc.
Basically to get it working...i uninstalled the Cisco ACU utility, then installed NetStumbler.

Before doing that netstumbler would not see any APs. ReInstalled the Cisco ACU after netstumbler was working and all is OK.

Make sure you are choosing (under DEVICE menu) the NDIS 5.1 device (others should be greyed out anyway).

So far I've found 25 APs in my local town and 19 have no WEP at least.....crazy.

Cisco card

I don't know if you want repeats here.. looks like I'm almost exactly like the post before me, but..

IBM Thinkpad T22 running Windows 2000pro
Cisco Aironet 350
Firmware = 4.25.30
NDIS driver = 8.2.3 (microsoft)
NetStumbler 0.3.30

same as others NS didn't work and then I installed the Cisco Aironet utilities software and flashed to the current bios (4.25.30), rebooted, and took a drive..
just driving 2 miles up the road (business district) I have like 20 AP's on my list but the Cisco signal strength utility dosen't ever go above 10% and my card hasn't attached to anyone else's network yet... but I'll get there
