I am not sure if this is the right place to post this.
I have just bought a Belkin Wireless Network card, model number F5D6020 from PCWorld and it is working no problems with Netstumbler. Windows 2000 O/S on a Compaq Evo N600C Laptop I'm happy Last edited by simdog : 02-21-2003 at 09:08 AM. |

Hi, I installed smc2632W V.2 on my IBM T23, with win2000 SP3 and it didn't work. Then I went to \winnt\system32\drivers directory and copied smcpcm98.sys to smcpcm98x.sys (this is the driver windows installed), and then copied smcpcmxp.sys to smcpcm98.sys. After a reeboot I can see my card reckognised as NDIS 5.0 and can use it...

XP PRO and SMC2632W
using prism drivers from http://www.intersil.com/design/prism...np-lic-win.asp
Merged from another post by compworx: Any card using the Prism chipset works. If you're using a card with the prism chipset, e.g. SMC 2632W, simply download the prism driver (NDIS 5) from the http://www.intersil.com/design/prism...np-lic-win.asp. Then boot into safe mode, unload your cards drivers, install the prism driver and reboot. if you have any problems let me know. compworx Former SMC Tech Support Suppervisor Last edited by Thorn : 02-26-2003 at 05:57 AM. |

Asante 1211-DP
I've successfully gotten the following setup to work with NS:
WinXP Pro SP1 Dell Latitude HGT500 - 640MB RAM Asante 1211-DP wlan card (Prism 2.5 chipset) Intersil reference drivers - they're newer/more stable that OEM This card is pretty cool since it has 2 MMCX ports which can be used to connect external antennae. It's a good thing too because the snap on antenna that comes with it has really dismal range on its own.... |

toshiba 14xx laptop here with a DWL 650+ card. Works fine with the 3.0 beta drivers. Don't even have to shut down the Airplus Utility. Got an error the first try, then shut down the airplus utility. Just fired it up with the utility on and it works!

Linksys wpc54g
Just in case anybody wants to know, I bought the Linksys wpc54g wireless adapter card and it works with Netstumbler. The wpc54g pc card has the Broadcom chipset, unlike other Linksys cards that use the Interisel prism chipset. I'm running it under Windows xp home with (service pack 1).

Just thought i'd add my 2-penn'orth.
I tried a Buffalo 54mbps CardBus Card. WLI-CB-G54 (manufacturer Melco. inc.) Working fine under XP Appears as NDIS The XP autoconnect seems unaffected, i pulled up and stopped at a strong signal... before i even got the laptop on my lap i was notified of incoming mail ! Not sure who what chipset but it seems to work fine. on the other hand....a proxim harmony 8430 isn't even recognised by NS ![]() actually XP doesn't see it as a wireless card either. it see it as just another LAN card. anyone know why ? cheers NW |

Fujitsu Lifebook A1010
Internal WiFi - LANEscape XI-726 (installs as a USB device) I have a Duel boot system with W2K Pro and WinXP Pro. I only use W2Kpro and Network Stumbler works Great! I have two devices to chose from... LANEscape/XI-726 Wireless Adapter ORiNOCO (does not work) and LANEscape/XI-726 Wireless Adapter Prism 2 (Works Great!) I am guessing that the Prism 2 is there because of the WinXP???

Toshiba Tecra 500CDT (old laptop)
3Com 3crwe62092b WiFi card win 2000 pro netstumbler 0.3.30 Didnt expect it to work according to docs and faq. Didnt work with default 3com drivers... Downloaded and installed v2.1.1.3000 drivers and hey presto works a charm Happy bunny apart from the lack of range thanks to the crappy 3com xjack aerial. |

I read somewhere that the prism chipset (and 3Com Cards) weren't supported in netstumbler - maybe that info is wrong or out of date but I wanted to let everyone know that I have successfully used a 3Com Airconnect Wireless card with Netstumbler - it's the PCX version that I pulled from the PCI interface and I was able to get it working in my laptop using Intersil's evaluation drivers. So either my info wrong or the Intersil drivers allow the Prism cards to work with Netstumbler.
