Just hooked up the new LinkSys WPC55AG PC-card - works fine!!!!
Stumbler finds BOTH 802.11A and B/G networks. I am using Dell Inspiron 7500 with XP SP1 - put the card in, it was recognized by XP, and it asked for a CD. That's it. I did not install any additional Linksys software... SWEEEEET!!!! |

I just got my Senao 200mW with the dual external antenna
ports. Works GREAT! Shows up as a Prism 2 under Windows 2000 in NetStumbler. Hell, I get green connection even with no antenna connected! (no internal on these dual ext models). I can't wait to hit the streets this weekend with this! I'm going to load it into my boblbee backpack and go bike riding!

For anyone with an IBM Thinkpad (I have the 390e) that uses a Texas Instruments Cardbus controller (old or new I believe), the Linksys WPC54G works great with the new beta driver found here:
ftp://ftp.linksys.com/beta/wpc54g_beta_driver.zip . Linksys was obviously aware that there was a problem and it looks like they have corrected it. Props to Linksys, but I will continue to test it out and report back here. Last edited by RaiD : 07-22-2003 at 08:09 PM. |

I've got the 2511CD PLUS ExT2 200mW card as well. Also, I have a 10dBi external magnetic antenna, and it works GREAT with NDIS mode enabled. I get about 1/2mile range through houses and cars and walls and stuff. In the open, it's closer to two miles. I would recommend this setup.

I just installed NS on my Windows 2000 system:
Dell Inspiron 2650 Linksys WPC11 v3.0 PC Card (almost forgot: running NS in NDIS mode, wouldn't work the other way) Works like a champ... now if only the thing could receive as well as the WUSB 2.6 device I have plugged into my desktop ![]() |

Win2k, SMC 2632W works
My Configuration:
Win2K SMC 2632W FW 0.08.03.00 Driver 1.32.02 it simply works without any special drivers or settings. The only thing, I had to do, was to create a new configuration with an empty network name, no encryption and network type "Access Point". |
