My configuration:

Toshiba Satellite 5205-S705
Windows XP Media Center Edition (Pro)
Pentium 4 - 2.4Ghz
1 Ghz RAM
60GB hard Drive
15.1 inch UXGA Display

Toshiba Mini PCI Wireless LAN card (internal)
Drivers: Agere Systems Version:7.620.390

Works perfect with Netstumbler.

WPC11 / WIN2k

Hey guys,

From what I have read, this should not work but it does and I don't know why. Here are the specs,

Dell Inspiron 8000
P3 700
256MB RAM
Win2k SP5
Linksys WPC11 v2.5 > WAP11
: Encrypt = YES 128
: Channel 6
: Infrastructure
: WEP = YES
: Driver v1.7.29.1032

and of course, NS v0.3.30
: Auto Reconfigure ON or OFF, it works.

No special settings or configurations. Install and Play.

I followed previous replies on how to make this work. The key is to change the profile selection to "Use another program to configure my wireless settings". This releases hold of the wireless card so that netstumbler can access and change the settings on the card.

I got it to work on my laptop running Windows 2000 and Cisco Airo 340 Firmware 5.20.17 NDIS driver v8.1.7.31 ACU version 6.1

To make it work I just set the ACU to "Use another program to configure my wireless settings".

Cool

Linksys WPC54G (v3.20.21.0)

IBM X20 P3-600 320MB (it has Ricoh PC card bus controller)

NS (v0.3.30) using NDIS 5.1

Windows XPP

Said may work & it did ... lucked out

Have tried reboot several times this evening & it does not cease to work like some has reported (knock on wood).

With SSID broadcast disabled, NS still seems to see the SSID (Linksys WRT54G with latest firmware). Interesting ... other settings enabled on WRT54G are: 128bit WEP & MAC filter.

Dell TrueMobile 1150 (thanks to e-Bay)
5 dB detachable flex antenna

Logged over 30 AP's during the 10 minute drive from work to home, and that was with the antenna just velcro'd to the back of my laptop in the passenger seat. Does not appear to pick up AP's that are not broadcasting SSID.

Try the Prism2 drivers - you'll get about 10dBm more
