Good small to mid sized diy desktop antenna?
I've got a D-dlink 900ap access point (based on a prism series chip) and I'd like to boost the range on it simply for the purposes of being able to go down the street or back yard or whatever.
I am very interested in building a 16+16 slotted waveguide antenna but the plans for it are for about a 2"x4"x58" aluminum tube. This is kinda big to just have standing on a desk. So I was wondering if anyone has scaled such an antenna down (or even if it is possible?) Or if there is something better for my purposes. I'm kinda looking for something in the 1 to 2 foot tall range. Also has anyone found any 2x4" aluminum tubes at any of the major hardware stores (home depot, lowes, ace, true value)? |
