is this suitable?
hey all, me again.
just a quick question, seein as how i have a dlink card, and theres no way to mount an external antenna, i decided to purchase this http://www.wirelesscentral.net/aprod/STUM-ANTW.html?ns now am i just another n00b buying something that looks promising, or was i in the right? someone suggested something with a 5dbi gain, and this antenna has that. just wondering if this will help somewhat, im assuming it will since it has an antenna and it will most definatly get better signal than my dlink card with no external antenna. any comments, flames, let me hear it thanx |

That's an excellent setup, you probably could've done a little better on price though.
http://www.fab-corp.com/ has excellent prices and will discount your order if you mention in the comments that it's for Netstumbler usage. It IS possible to add an antenna to the DWL-650s with a little bit of soldering work. ![]() |

Yes, this is possible but DO NOT attempt this unless you have some soldering experience, and, of course, this is at your own risk, and you could, VERY EASILY mess up your card!!
I warned you... http://www.guerrilla.net/reference/8...0_ext_antenna/
