A friend has one one of those and a the fab-corp one - it's performance is quite marginal compared to the fab-corp.
It needs a decent ground plane and a magmount., which are both are easy enough to construct. However it doesn't seem to perform much better than the "toothpick" design. |

I purchased one mostly for the magmount for antenna design. The antenna is ok but the fab is better. I have been able to do alot of antenna trial & error easily because of the n-connector on the base. The omni antenna is fragile but good for making your own.

UPdate
I received the antenna the other day and I am very pleased with its Qualilty.. I am happy with the whole setup.. The connection is high quality and the reception is quite good .. I have tested the magmount holding at speeds up to 85 mph and it held fine.. I will gladly buy from these filks again.. I have already refered a couple of people to them and they were as pleased as well. If I run it in alot of wet weather I will put some no ox on the N connection just for posterity... :
