Having MS TTS Problems
I have been trying to change the horrible default Sam TTS voice in winXP. I have used MS Agent, and TruVoice TTS Engines in the past, but havent gotten them to work on XP. I was advised to download and install MS Speech SDK 5.1. I tried it, and it completely killed my TTS. After installing it, i couldn't open the Speech Control pannel. All I wanna' do is use a different TTS Voice. Does anyone have any advice?

If that is the case, why is my Speech Control Panel not loading, and locking up any program that uses it. And why cant i shut down my system when something tries to access it? And it only happens when i have the SDK installed. When i uninstall it, it works again...

That being said, I do not know why it does not work on your machine. I'm sorry. Of course, I am assuming that you are talking about the speech applet in the control panel, not some other Speech Control Panel. Ted |
