Checking the map for an existing AP is possible, but not reliable. I have some previous experience using MPs FindPushpin method - it sucks. If it finds more than one pushpin which it thinks might match, it returns the same answer as if none were found. In my experience, it does this about 10% of the time, which is unacceptable. The bugger is that it finds more than one possible match even if there's one exact match and some that aren't even close. It's the biggest problem I've encountered working with MP (which is all the VB experience I have [very very little]) and really blemishes an otherwise great app.

After many many hours of searching I finally found a way to import the pushpins.....you got to create a recordset & loop through it..

Have a look in v00:24, Starts at line 432.

If you have a lot of pushpins on your map it will take extra time to start up while importing them but once done it shouldn't affect the script. Took around 3 1/2 mins to import 2876 pushpins from a saved Stumverter map on my desktop pc!
AWESOME! Gonna test this on my way home =).

What voices can you choose ? "LH Anna" and "LH Stefan" ?

I think I have made an error with this link. I have played around with this and other files and I thought this were the right files. But I have tested this files on a blank test PC and I can not choose the voices "LH Anna" and "LH Stefan".

But finally I have installed the voices "LH Anna" and "LH Stefan".
I use this two files:
MSReaderSetupGer.exe:
http://www.microsoft.com/reader/de/downloads/pc.asp
(after installation it want's to "activate" - not necessary)

ReaderTTSInstallGER.exe
http://www.microsoft.com/reader/de/downloads/tts.asp

I love all the work you guys have done on this script. Unfortunatly I am getting an error and know nothing about scripting. I have read through the whole thread and didnt see my line number error.

All your help is appreciated, attached in a screenshot of the error.

Thanks,
Justin

But, with exeption of the line no., I have had the same error.
I have to install "Microsoft Data Access Components (MDAC) 2.8" (perhaps this is a component of ".NET update" of Windows XP, which I not have installed).

For updates on XP Pro I am up to date, so that should have included .Net stuff. Is MDAC something I install seperatly?

Is there anyway to incorporate any error reporting into this script? Like when the Orinoco cards go into the "Orinoco error 0005" and quit scanning.

It would be good but I doubt it, nothing like that is passed from NetStumbler to the script. :O

I think that would be a little too much work, possible I guess, but the more things you give it to do every time it finds an AP the slower it will go, it's only a script....

I read the whole thread a few days ago, and let me just say that I am very impressed with this script!

Took it for a drive today, and everything works great!

I do have a question, and a suggestion though.

Question: Why when I turn off the speech, it also turns off the "radar bing" noise when I see a new AP (even though UseAudio = True)

Suggestion: In the next release, is it possible to add an option to not have MapPoint centered on your current position while driving?

Edit: Wow, 1st post. Could have sworn Ive posted here before.

Not that I was sat here waiting for something to do or anything!

V00:25 lets you choose to centre map on vehicle or not.

Not sure about the UseAudio thing though!
