I created this application to allow NetStumbler users to convert the Summary files into a file suitable for importing into Microsoft Streets (& Trips) 2005. You may be able to import into earlier versions or other mapping software, but I only have Microsoft Streets & Trips 2005.

I decided to write the application in PHP and it has a web interface, you just have to visit:

http://kb3ipd.com/phpStumblerImporter/index.html

If the above url does not work, then please use:

http://67.15.48.54/~kb3ipd/phpStumbl...ter/index.html

and follow the simple instructions.

IMPORTANT: This utility will only work with SUMMARY files generated from NetStumbler
I have only tested with SUMMARY files generated by NetStumbler v0.4.0
I cannot guarantee the results with SUMMARY files generated by earlier versions!

If you have success with other versions please send an email to kb3ipd@kb3ipd.com or reply to this thread.

This will create an output file suitable for importing into Microsoft Streets 2005 and will include the following information:

* Latitude
* Longitude
* SSID
* MAC Address

I will soon be adding Channel information and WEP info.

I'm not sure if anyone will find it useful, but I certainly do and use it for importing my results from a WarDrive

That was a cool tool. Will be able to share your php scripts so I can install this to my website.

Once I have improved the script and added more features, I will then provide the scripts.

Latest Version
The latest version now includes:

* Latitude
* Longitude
* MAC Address
* SSID
* Channel Information
* WEP Enabled or Disabled?

You can now select whether or not to separate out the data into 2 files for either WEP enabled or WEP disabled, or you can just create 1 file with everything.

I am really interested to find out what other mapping products the files generated will import into, so if anyone has a map product that allows importing of data please give it a try and let me know how it went.

The last item I will be working on is to exclude records where there is no GPS data.

I have also changed the name from phpStumblerImporter to phpStumblerParser, seemed more of an appropriate name.
