My previous followup applies here, too.
If there is a keystroke method to add a waypoint or import/merge a waypoint listing then it could be done, albeit crudely and inefficiently. But if you're only looking for instant gratification today then I concur with Madhadder. |

I've hacked together a quick program to write PCX5 waypoint files (easily imported by MapSourfce) from NetStumbler save files. It won't give you realtime waypoints in MapSource but it will give you the ability to create waypoints for your GPS from NetStumbler save files, instead of having to manually enter easy AP you find.
It will compile via any GCC compiler. I use Cygwin for running under windows. Last edited by velocity17 : 10-02-2004 at 06:29 AM. |

WiMap Utility
WiMap is a tool to convert your NetStumbler logs into the "latlon" or "draw object" file format recognized by certain versions of Delorme Street Atlas, and/or into the "PCX5" format that Garmin's MapSource system will import. http://www.honet.com/WiMap/ |

Once you've recorded one or more networks with the GPS active, save the NetStumbler log to something like c:\pathtons1files\filetochange.ns1 Then, you just type in something like "convert c:\pathtons1files\filetochange.ns1 c:\PathToWhereYouWantIt\fileToLoadInMSource.wpt" Once you have the .wpt file you import it to MapSource through File -> Import... Go to the directory the .wpt was saved in (c:\PathToWhereYouWantIt, if you thought I really meant that) and select "PCX5 Waypoint Files (*.wpt)" as the "Files of type". The file should show up and when you open it the waypoints should appear in the Waypoints list. The name of the network that was found will be in the Comments field and I think they're numbered in the order they were found with a WEP- prefixed on the encrypted networks.
