Yes, it plots the circles in real-time, no argument there. But the circles only represent (by their radius) the quantity of new APs found at that location, not the range limit of any single AP. Read the code. OnScanComplete calls DrawNewStumbles with the count of new APs.

A true plot of AP range would require that all lat/lon points where a given AP was in range be collected to calculate the size and center of the circle. This data exists in the NS1 file but is not available to the script.

RedRocket.... I bow deeply and humbly in your general direction (NE in this case)

This is an awesome script.........it is just what the doctor ordered for WWWD3....keeping track of where ya been, where ya going, and what ya find when you get there....

A live MapPoint breadcrumb trail, continually updated as you drive AND sound so you don't have to look at the screen often. (Mostly at stop lights for turns)

My deep appreciation. Thank you.

Has this been tested with MS Streets and Trips 2004 yet?

Mappoint 2002s maps are a bit dated in the expanding metro atlanta area.

Supposed to be picking up an Etrex Legend this week and will test it against MS S/T 2004. Didnt know if MS put the mappoint data controls in it or not.

Works with Mappoint 2004 just fine.
Actually, I dont have the "lock up every hour or so" thing that I did in MP 2002.

Drove 9 hours to DC, and only reset the system once on the drive.
And that was because I turned it all off when I stopped for lunch.

But, Stumverter still hasn't been updated to work with MP2004.
Here we just kept one system with MP2002 on it to use with stumbverter.

Since all the script gets is a count of New and old APs, I'm changing the track color depending on the AP counts reported. I also added a 'dotted line' track, and the size of the dot indicates the total count of APs being heard.

http://216.39.145.11/images/NSTrackSample.jpg

In the sample image, green indicates a 1 or more new AP found, and yellow is 1 or more existing (and 0 new). Dot size grows by (total APs / 2) pixels. I seem to recall that no more than 6 APs total were see at anytime when I created this sample. Dots are spaced 50ft apart.

The colors I picked suck, so I'm trying to find a set of colors that will work better.

I hope to post the new script soon.
Hmmm just a thought (and not being a good coder) have the colors go red on dots that a signal is below a certain level, yellow when its between 2 levels and green when its above a set level.. this way the viewer can see where on the path signals are best and etc....
