I added a routine to USAPhotoMaps that shows APs with WEP enabled in red. And you can download a program
(http://jdmcox.com/NetStumbler2USA.exe) that will convert a NetStumbler file saved with File | Export | Summary to an xml waypoint file that USAPhotoMaps can read. |

Sample Red/Green map
I just took a couple of moments to update my mapping page with a sample map of red/green for WEP and NonWEP APs. Please check it out here!

It would be cool if some functionality could be developed to make the labels 'not overlap' with some type of pointer to the dot the label belongs to.

So I have an .ns1 log with 3072 AP's, all with GPS co-ords.
When I run it through the ns1gpx.exe program, to hopefully output a gpx file, it doesnt work. The program starts to go... last line output on the screen is 'APs Detected: 3072', then nothing, yet the program doesnt end either. it just keeps my processor running at 100%, while accomplishing nothing. Anyone else had similar probs? This is under Windows 2000 and XP. Since ns1gpx.exe doesnt like to work for me, I've been using Netstumbler2USA.exe. Basically, I feed it an exported summary from NetStumbler, and it outputs a .xml file. However, with this program, it doesnt seem to include all AP's. I KNOW all AP's have GPS's co-ords on them. I was thinking there must be a limit to the number of waypoints that USAPhotoMaps can have? Can anyone confirm or deny this? Is there a workaround? Thanks. Edit: I have also tried ns1gpx.exe on smaller files, having as few as 122 AP's. Last edited by Nybbles : 08-26-2004 at 04:17 PM. |
