I am apparently a big fat liar. Here is the thread but it was in response to a different problem. Sorry for the confusion.

My roommate's US Robotics 2410 PCMCIA card does't work with NS .4
The status bar says "A connected device is not functioning" or something similar.

Any chance you could fetch exactly what it is saying?

"A device attached to the system is not functionin[sic]"

It may say more than that, but the status bar isnt long enough to finish the word functioning

Broadcom 570x Gigabit - Dell D600 - no go

"No Wireless Adapter found" message is all I see in the status bar.

Broadcom 570x Gigabit Integrated Controller
Dell Lattitude D600
Windows XP Pro

MiniStumbler 0.4 works great on my iPaq 5450, so I'm still happy :-)

Uhh...you do realize that is not a wireless card don't you? That is an integrated 10/100/1000 Ethernet card. Wired, not wireless.

802.3 != 802.11

Yep, I'm a dope...that's the NIC. Turns out the folks that built the machine left off of the WLAN drivers, so I couldn't see the card..

The Dell TrueMobile 1400 card in the D600 works just FINE with NetStumbler 0.4.

Off the RT the FM....

SMC2835w v.1

crashes netstumbler after a few seconds

beleive its something to do whenever the card tries to change modes when NS is run.
prism2 based card, if i recall right, latest (ancient) drivers.

before it crashes, the info it provides is spot on.

I have the SMC 2835w 1.0.14.0. It had major issues with the older versions of Netstumbler, this seems to have been resolved with the new version of the program. I would make sure that you have the latest drivers for the card and all the patches for Windows Xp in place and see if this makes a difference. I will continue to test and see if I encounter any issue and post them as I come across any.

the latest drivers are there (and they're rather old, too)

you look like you have a slightly older driver, hmm.

The USR5410 802.11g PCMCIA card worked fine in the last version of NS, but isn't recognized in 0.4. No idea why.
