Well then how can you state that "everything works"? And are you saying that you used NS to connect to an AP?

Does it properly report SNR?

Does it work 100% of the time?

Does it have a Hermes based chipset?

If you cannot answer 'yes' to all three questions, then you cannot say that it's supported.

We know you mean well, but what make/model card are you refering too?
You do understand works does NOT make it supported, many cards work w/NS however the only supported cards are the ones listed as such in the readme file.

Belkin F5D8010 Pre-N

My Belkin Pre-N (F5D8010) PC card seems to work with NS .4 with the version 1.2.0.68 belkin driver. Updating to the 1.2.0.80 driver however broke things. Going back to 1.2.0.68 got things working again.

With the 1.2.0.80 driver NS doesn't find the device, and hence completely fails.

FYI, "works" for me simply means it finds the device and finds AP's, I have no idea if the signal information is accurate. I'm to new at this to know anything more, yet... if anyone knows of further info on these cards I'd appreciate a pointer.

Ok, I later realized is actually using the NDIS 5.1 driver and will work with the 1.2.0.80 driver installed. Regardless "works" simply means it's finding AP's and reporting signal strength (Relative SS).

Really? Define good. Does it properly display SNR?

Cards that have been reported to work!!!!

According to netstumbler compatibility list the DWL-G650 and Intel wireless 2200BG work properly. I try both and it didn’t work, you can only see the signal strength but not the noise. So why are they on the list?

The list is of "cards that have been reported to work" not the list of working perfect cards. According to the documentation, only the cards with Hermes chipsets report proper signal/noise data.

The compatibility list is not the same as the card being supported. The compatibility list is user submitted experiences. Most of the cards on the compatibility list, uses NDIS 5.1 driver, with their inheren limitations, and therefore can't report proper signal and noise values. See the NetStumbler documentation.
