Ouch

The man was just asking a question Mr White. No need to be rude.

In answer to the original posters question as opposed to sending him to a thread that tells him nothing and a html that is not quite right.

I am using a D-Link Airplus card with NDIS 5.1 and it works fine.

The question was asked 18 months ago. Look at the date. It is also asked no less than 4 times a day. It is answered by RTFM and the links I just posted. He also proved his dumbshittedness by typing IN ALL CAPS.

Did you even check those links? Neither of those 2 links helped? HTML not quite right? Stop using Netscape 3.

Again go back and read
this. It's at the very top of the FAQ section for a reason. Don't want to read it? Then I will quote myself:

If it's not on the list, it's not guaranteed to work. Some unsupported cards work better than others. Before buying a card, search to see how well it performed for others. Or skip all the drama and buy an Orinoco or rebranded equivalent.
Oh, and you are a dumbshit as well.

This ought to be fun.

In response to wrzwaldo my noise data seems to be fine. I am just using Netstumbler to see what channels were in use in the area I am in so as not to step on anyones toes. The only real issue I have is that the SNR chart display does not update when scrolling to the right, but that is such a trivial issue it was barely worth mentioning.

I am using a DWL-520+ and yes when there is more than one AP it does tend to shut NS down. However restarting NS fixes this in short order. I am using the latest drivers.

In response to Mr White Well I had this whole set of text to send in this post to make you feel small and insignificant, but I decided that it was not worth it.

I was just trying to help someone out. For that I am sorry.
I am not as well versed in Netstumbler as most are, again I apologise.

And no I dont use Netscape.

If you are using NDIS I doubt that your noise figures are fine. If so I think you would be the first ever. I have ran it with 5 cards and NDIS and none produced good noise data. But hey whatever blows your skirt up.

One (yes 1) card which uses the NDIS 5.1 driver is known to produce proper Noise reporting. That is the Cisco card, and it only does it when it's "Signal Display Units" is set to dBm under Cisco Client Utility > Preferences.

http://forums.netstumbler.com/showthread.php?t=1797

Every other card using the NDIS drivers seems to be have problems accurately reporting Noise.
