FIRST RUN

WOOOO HOOOO
haha
Did my first run... to work...
Its only a 12 minute run..and
I netted three access points.
None were running encryption.
One I got on 95 doing 80.... with no antenna
lol I was a little late...
Unfortunately my gps batteryies went out...
just as i left my complex..
so i tried the ac power adapter but it didnt work...
Anyone know what I should set the adapter to
to give a garmin etrex power? 1.5 3.0 4.5 etc something like that....
Its ok thou because I drive that route alot...
Anyway ...
Anyone know how to get two seperate programs to be able to
access a serial port... hmm...

i was doing like 75-80
when i pick up the first one...
on 95 which is a THE major highway here...

I just tried to upload todays results but for some
reason it is not taking....

i exported the results to text format
no luck
i tried ns1 format
no luck
i tried wiscan with no luck hmm I donno
...
anyway i found 26 networks in about 2 hours....
18 had no encyption...

it was kind of funny
half way throught the drive
I pulled in to a 7-11 to pick up some soda..
a friend was in the car
he laughed when as we pulled in he hit a wireless network
at 7-11
when i got back he clicked on explorer to open a text file on the hard drive...
up popped msn.com lol
to my surprise the card autoconfigured it self on the network
Thanks to windows 2000 advanced server.....

Ummm....

WIN95 autoconfigures too just fine :-) It's what I run on my junk laptop and works very well. I pull into my driveway and get my AP every time. In fact, it's such a PITA to configure the card for my WAP that I simply fire up 'Stumbler, scan for a moment, and then shut it off in order to get everythin configured fine. Makes life MUCH easier! :-)
