Forum Changes - Input Needed
It has been brought to my attention that people want to see some new forums created on the site and myself and the other admins agree. We want to hear from the users what forums you want to see created? After all, the site is for you guys not us.
We were thinking along the lines of "Hardware" "Netstumbler Help" "For Sale" and "People in your area" (We have seen different people wanting to get in touch with people that are using NetStumbler in their area and this would be the place to do it) So let us know what you want to see and even what you want them to be called. -aFR |

Bish, although I had the same idea that you did -- to create a complete new forum for each "metro" area that would be far too inefficient for the size of the forum as it is now. So if you wish to get in touch with people our suggestion is to use the "Other Stumblers" forum and create a thread for each area you wish to discuss and contact people in.
Thanks for your support, -aFR |

What about breaking the cities into regions at first?
West Coast, Mountains, Middle, South, and East Coast? Then if we have much interest up north a Canada one as well? From there the bigger cities may need future ones dedicated to themselves as groups grow. I definitly like the idea of for sale area and hardware areas. Those are good info spots. What about a homebrew area for people custom making software and hardware solutions? So far NetStumbler is the only working item I see for Windows that is not a huge commercial cost so an area for others to share their code and ideas would be nice. John K. |

database
database and maping forum would be good...
I would like to know if the database is live on the web and if anyone can access it mabye a search methiod... to find nearest access points... and more fields like comment fields... this data is all cool but unless we can add comments on whos AP we find then it will not do us any good other than showing us where there are access Points like fields I would like to see are (Comment, address, contact name for AP,email for the person in charge of the ap,person who located the AP, email of the person who located the ap) All these fields could be optional but I know I would like to be able to add info to them... |

I like the added forums. some of them are slow.. as they should be, were young and not alot of people are into it yet. But I believe the other forums will fillout as more people get turned onto this site. Thanks for adding the new forums!! go forum moderators!!
