After going back and rereading this thread, I dont know how i missed the CM in the first few posts. I think it was only lincomatic who accidentally wrote .75MM, and I knew that couldnt be right. Thanks again.

i found out that this type of antenna is used for triangulation its used on a spinning tray until the signal is strongest at its horizon
2 of these antennas 15 meters apart can pinpoint a signal 2 miles away with proper reading equipment i am currently working on a 6 coil one when im done ill post the #'s

That means that this is probably a highly directional design with a very narrow beam width and orientation will be super critical!
Maybe that's why I had such poor results. Soverign - did your friend say if the shape of the interconnections was important? I just wound mine from a single length of wire, so I don't have the 90 degree bend where you show it. |

the dimensions are very important
i deviated slightly and was getting horrible interferance i fixed it with a ruler and a vice to exact measurements and in order to get a broad signal it should be laying flat like on your dashboard, the coils should point to the driver and passenger it seems to be the best configuration for it. for triangulation you would sit it up vertically and spin it
