Thanks Marius!
In case anyone has any concerns about their new WarDriving: Drive, Detect, Defend book being outdated already, don't sweat it. The NS/MS chapters cover the 0.4 versions of NetStumbler and MiniStumbler, including the new features in both programs. Marius was kind enough to give us access to v0.4 prior to this release, so that the book would not be out of date immediately after being published. Marius also contributed to the book, and has it available on his site, too.

I'm very impressed with the latest version. Well done Marius, you deserve zillions of pints to be bought for you!

Marius, Thank you. Your efforts are remarkable once again.
The best feature overall: Faster loading of large files! When it took 30 minutes to open a file (if it did'nt crash) it was a PITA. Whatever you did now opens an 88,000 AP file in just a couple minutes when previously it crapped out the system. The IP detection and lookup feature is going to be one of the more amusing features I think. The ability to cross reference location, SSID and IP lookups makes my task of alerting owners a crapload easier. Great work as usual. Render

If you want to try something amusing, enable the MIDI feedback and change the Patch value to between 0-127 for different insturments. There are some wierd ones in there.
Makes for some funny sounding audio feedback to have a bird chirpping (123) or a gunshot (127)

Testing WiGLE.net + new NetStumbler
Marius: rock on. It's very nice.
All: send us test ns1 files from the new version, tell us how our new parser is working (props to uhtu for mega-fast porting). New client versions with NS1-loading will be out shortly. The DiGLE+NS integration script appears to work fine as-is. -a |
