From the FAQ (you did read the FAQ, right) ;-)

Will this be ported to Windows CE?
If you send me a suitable system, I'll be happy to port it at my leisure (and return the unit to you!).

Yes, I did read the FAQ.. But what do you need a device for when you could do most of the (porting)work using MS's emulater and than make a beta for people do download and share experiences ??

Guess it comes down to personal preferances. Myself, I wouldn't release any software I couldn't test, and I couldn't test a WinCE release without a WinCE device.

Sorry to hear that !
I'm currently unemployed and can't afford to send you a device, my loss I guess.

Well if i put the cash down for a compaq iPAQ with the new Pocket PC version 2002, id love to send it to you in order to create a pocket PC version, however, i cant go without the pocket pc for 6 months or however long it would take to make the port even if i do get it back.

by that time a new device and a new os will probably be out! and ill have to upgrade all over again!

ipaq numbers are deceiving

i just wanted to put that most people that have an ipaq do NOT have the ability to use a CF out of box. they are over priced when you consider that you have to but a sleeve to get expanded functionality. please make sure that when a port is made it is not arm specific only.

many ipaq users are former palm users that did not care so much for bells and whistles as much they liked the form factor and speed of the ipaq. once they got it they only got added cute case and flip cover for it. talking numbers here, vast majority of people never add a sleeve,, they become 'bulky' and they no longer fit so well in a pocket..

the future of the PPC is the arm cpu, but for now many people with expansion (802.11b) ablility have mips or SH, not to mention all the handheld older ce portables with PCMCIA slots..

my 2 cents..

The emulator does not appear to emulate PCMCIA so I can't really use it for testing.

BreezeCom PCMCIA card had a windows CE driver for years....

And Symbian just released a CF version of a very good 802.11B card with working Windows CE drivers...

Have fun
