...would you know, I actually have lots and lots of different access points all in my house that use different SSID's and configs for WEP. It would be nice to have a tool that could just tell me what type of WEP is employed.

Naw, that was a bunch of bull. It's for wardriving. I just want to see more info about the different AP that I come across. I really don't give a crap about cracking some poor sap's WEP, what am I gonna do live in my car in front of his house all my life so I can use his free Internet? Plus, if I really wanted in I'd be breaking out BackTrack2 or something really useful to start the "digging". I mostly just let NS run while I'm on the road to see what the WiFi looks like in different areas.

If you use NS for just wardriving, then it doesn't matter. The NS tool is free. Be happy with that.

The only thing you need to know for wardriving is location and wep/no wep. Don't even need to know the wep unless you are interesting in stats of what % is wep/no wep. So you see how you might have got a little crispy by asking the questions you asked, right?

...Just for the record, I didn't call YOU a smart ass, it was your comment I was referring to. Subtle but distinct difference. I think in return I was referred to as an asshole and a dumb ass. But hey that's just how I read it too.

And why is that? If someone has malicious intentions they will be able to carry them out NS or no NS... Detection of encryption type is very important for statistic data as it shows more accurately of the security aware people or not... WEP is usually what is setup by installers, WPA is usually what a security aware user will use instead (atleast I think).

And I have no improvement suggestions personally, I am a software update nut so I just like updating stuff Maybe a refreshed UI, new icons, more supported devices, etc.
